Job summary

SkillsUSA Texas is seeking a District Coordinator to support the Executive Director in operating the State office and managing district activities under the State Constitution and Bylaws. The role focuses on building membership, coordinating with schools and CTSOs, and leading district leadership events.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in education, strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, and a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the education field.
  • Experience in SkillsUSA work history and CTSOs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, alumni, key stakeholders, and the public.
  • Strong written and oral communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with initiative, and thrive in a team; high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information; ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a communication system with key stakeholders.
  • Implement local, district, and regional strategies for growth of SkillsUSA Texas within the region.
  • Partner with Department of Education and school leaders to build membership and participation.
  • Coordinate with Championships to prepare chairs, judges, and contest standards for district events.
  • Support Fall and Summer Leadership conferences in the district.
  • Oversee inventory of district supplies and ensure annual reconciliation.
  • Attend State Leadership and Skills Conference and District Coordinator convening as required.
  • Travel extensively and work evenings and weekends as needed.
