Job summary

CVS Health seeks a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) to travel within the district, supervise shifts, and maintain pharmaceutical operations. The role emphasizes patient safety, counseling, immunizations, and adherence to policies.

The DSP acts as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts and ensures compliance across stores. The ideal candidate will hold an active pharmacist license in the relevant state, an active NPI, and be free from DEA exclusions.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel within district to fill pharmacist shifts and oversee the pharmacy.
• Support safe prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and guiding the team.
• Serve as Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
• Provide empathetic patient care and resolve insurance and medication issues.
• Offer immunizations and support Pharmacists and Technicians in immunization efforts.
• Manage pharmacy inventory and protect cold-chain products.
• Maintain flexibility for scheduling and contribute to a safe team environment.
• Stay current with required trainings and CMEs.
• Support pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and CVS Health policies.
