Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a part-time District Support Pharmacist to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps and support pharmacy teams across the district. The DSP will supervise pharmacy operations, ensure safe dispensing, and promote excellent patient care.

You will travel to stores, act as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager, and lead the team in delivering compassionate care, immunizations, and effective insurance handling within CVS policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Pharmacist license in the state where the store is located.
• Must have an active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Manage dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices to support patient care.
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts and oversee the pharmacy as proxy to the Pharmacy Manager.
• Ensure safe prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• When on duty, perform Pharmacy Manager duties and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Coach the pharmacy team to deliver compassionate care and resolve insurance/medication issues.
• Deliver immunizations and support technicians in learning to immunize.
• Manage inventory with focus on cold chain protection across pharmacies.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility and foster a safe, inclusive team environment.
• Keep clinical/technical skills current through trainings and CMEs.
• Support pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible (e.g., testing, prescribing).
• Comply with federal/state laws, CVS policies, privacy, and safety standards.
