Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of payroll accounting procedures.
• Ability to maintain auditable records.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
• Strong keyboarding and file maintenance skills.
• Ability to work with numbers accurately and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate district payroll for distribution to employees.
• Receive and audit time sheets; calculate wages, hours, withholdings, and net pay.
• Balance payroll earnings and deductions; initiate related transfers and deposits.
• Maintain district payroll registers and related documentation per requirements.
• Prepare and post payroll changes including deductions and salary changes.
• Compile and file payroll reports and records.
• Submit reports to IRS, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Retirement System, FICA, Medicare, Texas New Hire Reporting, and Workers' Comp.
• Coordinate with HR and secretaries to ensure data accuracy and resolve payroll inquiries.
