Job summary

Waste Management is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day site operations at a medium-to-large facility in Florida. The role provides support to District and Senior District leadership, focusing on safety, performance metrics, cost control, and WM Way standards.

You will supervise staff, optimize processes, participate in P&L reviews, and coordinate with local agencies to renew contracts and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Driver's License required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the district/ site and supports Managers.
• Monitors operating metrics, diagnoses issues, and improves processes.
• Ensures safety and compliance with WM policies, OSHA, and regulations.
• Conducts root cause investigations for injuries/incidents and implements retraining.
• Leads staff through coaching, discipline, training, and performance reviews.
• Plans short- and long-term goals with District leadership.
• Participates in P&L reviews and optimizes costs and resource use.
• Interacts with city/county agencies to renew or negotiate contracts and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Ensures compliance with WM Way and Gold Standards.
• Collaborates with other departments on labor/employee relations matters
