Job summary

WM is seeking an experienced leader to manage day‑to‑day district operations across sites, driving safety, service excellence and cost savings. You will coach Route Managers, oversee staffing decisions, and partner with the Senior District Manager on strategic goals.

You will ensure adherence to OSHA standards, perform root‑cause investigations into incidents, and actively participate in contract negotiations and budget reviews. This role reports to the Collection Operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited).
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and two years relevant work experience.
• 4 years in a role with supervisory and/or P&L responsibility.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day district operations and support Route Managers to ensure safety, service and savings.
• Ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
• Conduct root cause investigations for injuries/incidents with coaching and retraining.
• Manage department staffing, coaching, discipline, training, performance, and promotions.
• Set short/long term goals with Senior District Manager or Director of Collection Operations.
• Participate in P&L reviews and optimize budgets, equipment utilization, and costs.
• Interface with local agencies to ensure customer satisfaction and negotiate contracts.
