Job summary

Univar Solutions USA Inc is seeking a District Operations Manager to oversee daily safe and economical operations across multiple branches in the Fairfield area, including transportation, warehousing, and chemical handling.

The role requires 7+ years in operational leadership, strong supervisory skills, and knowledge of chemical distribution regulations. Travel 25–50% is expected, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferred.
• HazMat certified, Hazwoper Certified, CVI.
• 7+ years' experience in operational leadership.
• Strong supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of chemical distribution facility operation preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills in coaching and team building with all levels of people in the organization.
• High level of decision-making ability, balancing customers' needs and company objectives.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle diverse workload.
• Leadership abilities recognized by peers and subordinates.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of chemical distribution.
• Working knowledge of governmental requirements related to chemical industry (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT).
• 25-50% Travel throughout the district. Overnight travel required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates compliance to health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Supports sales efforts with regulatory compliance.
• Supports emergency response teams across District.
• Manages district health and safety program and conducts safety audits.
• Conducts timely incident investigations and implements corrective measures.
• Communicates district performance and trends to leadership.
• Leads operations personnel within the district.
• Manages salary plan, hiring, and termination of staff.
• Develops programs for subordinate development with HR.
• Oversees budget and operating plans for district branches.
