Journeys in Victor, NY is seeking a District Sales Manager trainee to assist the District Sales Manager in supervising retail store locations within the assigned district. You will focus on developing skills to perform DSM duties and drive store performance.

The role requires strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, a track record in retail sales, and willingness to travel extensively to support multiple stores across the district.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the district.
• Ability to recruit, train, and develop store teams.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Completion of DSM in Training or equivalent multi-store supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist District Sales Manager in supervising retail store locations within the assigned district.
• Achieve district sales goals and profitability targets while maintaining home store performance.
• Support the DSM in evaluating people, performance, and creating action plans.
• Staff stores within the district and oversee Loss Prevention practices.
• Direct store operations and provide coaching and accountability to employees.
• Ensure company initiatives are implemented as directed.
• Recruit, interview, and hire store management candidates per instructions.
• Train and promote store employees; perform regular store visits.
• Maintain communication with DSM, Regional, and corporate staff.
