Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking a District Manager to lead operations, drive sales, and maximize profitability across a network of stores. Reporting to Store Operations leadership, you will coach Store Managers, enforce policies, and ensure a superior customer experience.

You will travel up to 75% to visit stores, develop talent, and align district performance with company standards, while building strong partnerships with Home Office and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of successful retail management experience, including multi-store leadership.
• Proven district management or progressive retail leadership experience.
• Strong operational expertise in merchandising, inventory control, financial management, and team development.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours including peak seasons (holidays, rodeos, events).
• Ability to travel frequently, up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers and store teams to achieve district sales and profit goals.
• Regularly visit stores to assess performance, provide guidance, and ensure alignment with company standards.
• Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions within the district.
• Provide training on profitability, expense control, sales strategies, and operational best practices.
• Ensure all stores comply with company policies, procedures, legal requirements, and safety standards.
• Communicate strategies, goals, and expectations to Store Management.
• Monitor reports to ensure accountability across stores.
• Support new store openings, events, and seasonal priorities.
• Handle escalated customer issues and maintain high service standards.
• Track PTO schedules to ensure appropriate store coverage.
• Stay informed on local market trends and competition.
• Conduct regular district meetings to drive engagement.
• Build internal talent pipelines for future leadership.
