What you will do
- Partner with leaders in the planning process to ensure strategic plans drive business results, optimize customer service, and align with company values. Contribute to the development of people strategies that support business strategies and objectives, helping to drive organizational performance. Support and influence key operational and strategic decisions.
- Understand the general business conditions affecting their industries, functions, and regions, while staying current on HR research and trends to present informed perspectives.
- Identify development solutions and consult with leaders on how to effectively accelerate associate development (e.g., exposure events, project assignments, coaching).
- Promote high performance through coaching, regular constructive feedback, and the annual performance review process.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and consultation on leading people and organizational management practices to develop site leaders.
- As a leadership team member, encourage associates and leaders to embrace new philosophies, technologies, and initiatives.
- Partner with site leadership to engage and coach associates on the floor, fostering a customer service culture.
- Contribute to HR Centers of Expertise regarding functional strategies, programs, and practices to meet business needs, advocating for business leaders and managers.
- Use human capital expertise to advise and hold sites accountable for engagement action plans, suggesting tactics and reviewing plans within their area.
- Utilize organizational diagnostics (e.g., surveys, workforce analysis) to proactively identify and address talent and engagement challenges, collaborating with leaders and HR COEs to craft and support solutions.
- Promote adoption of company programs related to rewards, recognition, talent, and communication, leveraging HR COEs for support.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for site leaders to ensure leadership quality.
- Lead talent assessment and development discussions using program guidelines provided by HR COEs.
- Lead discussions on sourcing, recruiting, and staffing plans, partnering with Talent Acquisition to support hiring efforts.
- Coach leaders on change management and resistance techniques following Lowe’s methodology.
- Create strategies with business leaders to identify and overcome barriers, facilitating meetings to address root causes and coaching managers accordingly.
- Develop and implement plans to ensure successful change initiatives.
- Identify and align communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging and expected results.
- Partner with Field Leadership on community outreach and engagement activities, such as job fairs and local hiring partnerships.
- Support HR aspects of new site openings, closures, or relocations, providing human capital consultation on restructuring.
Individual Contributor
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- 5 Years of progressive HR experience demonstrating increasing responsibility
- 3 Years of HR generalist experience across multiple disciplines (e.g., workforce planning, talent acquisition, career development)
- 1 Year of managing or supervising others, with direct or indirect reports
- 3 Years of experience working in cross-functional teams with exempt and nonexempt staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field with 7 Years of progressive HR experience
- 2 Years of experience working in multiple locations
- 2 Years of managing or supervising others, including at least 1 year of direct report responsibility
- 3 Years of managing cross-functional teams while maintaining a union-free environment
- Experience developing, facilitating, or adapting training programs
- Active professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR)
