Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking a District Supervisor to manage the maintenance of grounds and facilities within an assigned district. This is a working supervisory role requiring skills in employee motivation, landscape maintenance, and public concern resolution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with four years landscape maintenance experience, including two years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Knowledge of fertilizers, irrigation systems, herbicides, and standard mowing/planting practices.
• Snow and ice removal techniques and equipment experience.
• Valid driver's license or CDL; ability to obtain within 6 months if required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tasks and assigns duties to work crews; reallocates resources as needed.
• Reads blueprints and inspects projects to Salt Lake City specifications; monitors progress.
• Tracks supplies and recommends purchases; manages payroll and leave approvals.
• Operates equipment and ensures safety and training of personnel in safety issues.
• Maintains performance documentation and supports management on personnel actions.
• May act as Manager in absence and coordinate with other City agencies and public groups.
• Performs other related duties as required.
