Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking a Groundskeeper Seasonal to maintain city-owned grounds, parks, trails, and recreation facilities. You will perform landscaping, mowing, fertilizing, and general grounds maintenance to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming outdoor spaces for residents and visitors.

The role is part-time, 20 scheduled hours weekly, with duties ranging from lawn care to basic irrigation system checks.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years old.
Ability to reach various Parks and Public Lands facilities.
Experience in maintenance and landscaping.
Experience working for a city municipal park.
Experience operating light or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform mowing, aerating, weeding, cleaning restrooms and raking leaves to maintain City-owned grounds, parks, trails, cemeteries, open spaces and recreation facilities.
Operate mowers, sweepers, blowers and other grounds maintenance equipment; may operate heavy landscaping equipment.
Maintain and adjust equipment; perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
Assist in mixing and applying fertilizers, herbicides and other chemicals used for turf care.
Prepare ball fields, parks and picnic areas for reservations; inspect and clean areas and coordinate with health dept as needed.
Perform related duties as assigned.
