Job summary

Goshen County School District No. 1 is seeking a dependable District Maintenance Personnel to provide maintenance services and keep school facilities safe and operational.

The role emphasizes light carpentry, plumbing, HVAC support, and general repairs, with responsibilities including safety, documentation, and coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor. Qualified candidates will have experience with building and grounds maintenance and the ability to work with district personnel and outside

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard maintenance methods, materials, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools, skilled-trade equipment, and other job-related equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under time constraints.
• Ability to work effectively with others, including district personnel, coworkers, and outside contractors, while working independently under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs including carpentry, painting, glazing, HVAC, furniture, and building system components.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, equipment, and snow removal equipment while following appropriate safety practices.
• Assist with district projects and work orders, including coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor, other trades, district personnel, and outside contractors.
• Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to address immediate operational and safety concerns.
• Maintain documentation and supplies by preparing repair status reports and boiler logs, requesting necessary materials, and transporting tools and equipment to job sites.
