Job summary

OneMain Financial is seeking a Lead Collection Specialist to drive performance across an assigned district by working directly with customers and branch teams. You will balance empathy with accountability, negotiate effectively, and coach others toward success.

You will manage a high volume of collections, contact customers to resolve past-due accounts, and collaborate with branch managers to identify trends. Travel to branches is required and reimbursed under policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of related experience in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet performance goals.
• Willingness and ability to travel to branches.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of collection activity across an assigned district to achieve delinquency goals.
• Contact customers to understand circumstances and resolve past-due accounts through repayment or settlements.
• Use approved tools to identify solutions benefiting both customer and business.
• Negotiate effectively while delivering respectful customer experience.
• Partner with Branch Managers to identify performance trends and provide targeted collections support.
• Train and coach branch team members on delinquency management and collection best practices.
• Work with the District Manager to prioritize support based on needs.
• Maintain accurate account documentation following policies and regulatory requirements.
• Travel to branches within and outside the district; travel reimbursed per policy.
