OneMain Financial is seeking a Lead Collection Specialist to drive district performance by working with customers and supporting branch teams.

You will apply a consultative approach to resolve past-due accounts through repayment or settlement options, balancing empathy with accountability. Travel within the district is required and reimbursed per policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet performance goals.
• Willingness and ability to travel to branches within and outside the district.

• Maintain accurate and timely account documentation while following all company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Travel to branches within and outside the assigned district as needed.

You’ll use a consultative, solutions-focused approach to help customers resolve past-due accounts through appropriate repayment or settlement options. We’re looking for a results-driven professional who can balance empathy with accountability, negotiate effectively, build strong relationships, and coach others toward success.

In the Role

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2-3 years of related experience in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution

• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize effectively, and consistently work toward performance goals.

• Sound judgment, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to make informed decisions.

• Ability to influence, coach, and build trust with customers and colleagues.

• Willingness and ability to travel to branches within and outside the assigned district.

• Ability to successfully complete all required training programs.

Preferred:

• Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or training others.

• Experience supporting multiple branches, locations, or teams.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday during standard business hours, with some extended hours during the week as needed which may include Saturday.
