Position Purpose

The District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) is responsible for teaching, coaching, and training associates to ensure the effective execution of core Asset Protection initiatives. They drive programs related to theft and fraud mitigation, operational excellence, safety, and environmental compliance across stores, without adding complexity to store operations. They must collaborate with the District Manager, Store Manager, Store Leadership Team, APS, and other associates to meet the goals of the AP and Store Operations leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Driving Execution (25%): Implement Merchandise Protection Standards (MPS), Pick Ticket, and Lockup programs. Promote safety initiatives, ensure post orders compliance, and collaborate with DHRM, DM, and law enforcement to de-escalate incidents. Train store leadership and associates on theft, operational shrink, and safety.
2. Internal and External Theft and Fraud (50%): Manage case entries, analyze theft trends, conduct interviews, and review external cases. Build partnerships with law enforcement, analyze shrink data, and manage shrink reduction strategies.
3. People (25%): Make hiring and disciplinary decisions, schedule staff based on theft trends, and develop associates through coaching and training. Conduct performance reviews and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

Reporting and Travel

• Typically reports to the Regional Asset Protection Manager.
• Manages 5-8 direct reports.
• Requires 5-20% overnight travel.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Mostly indoor work; occasional lifting (<8 lbs) and movement.
• Work environment is generally comfortable with infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18+, authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
• Effective collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3+ years related work experience.
• Leadership experience in retail asset protection.
• Certifications: LPC/LPQ, experience with investigations and law enforcement partnerships.
