Job summary

FANUC America is seeking a District/Account Manager to grow the robotic automation business in the greater Cincinnati and Dayton, OH areas. You will directly sell applications across General Industries and oversee FANUC America Integration partners within the territory.

The ideal candidate has a background in robots and robotic applications, with regional knowledge and established contacts within the customer base.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with customer interface or selling, preferably in a capital equipment environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or engineering experience.
  • Technical competency in automation applications from actual plant experience or formal education.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities within specified accounts including direct selling to plants and engineering offices to meet targets in units, revenue, and gross profit.
  • Develop and implement strategic selling plans for accounts; identify complex sales situations and direct company resources to win the business.
  • Manage FANUC America integrator network and expand to increase sales to end users.
  • Develop relationships with key personnel at all levels of plant, engineering and management within accounts and establish FAC as a sustaining resource.
  • Prepare and review quotations with customer for scope, pricing and deliverables; negotiate to maximize profitability.
  • Interface with project teams on sold projects to ensure understanding of deliverables and drive successful execution.
  • Participate in kickoff and status meetings to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
  • Solicit customer feedback to guide product improvements and new products to increase market share.
  • Manage assets through monthly forecast and assist in collections of overdue payments.
  • Travel to customer sites, tradeshows, and events within and outside territory.

The District/Account Manager will be responsible for growing the robotic automation business in the greater Cincinnati and Dayton, OH areas directly selling applications in all areas of General Industries – stand‑alone units and systems business – to end users and managing FANUC America Integration partners within the assigned territory.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic go-getter who has a background in robots and robotic applications, and is familiar with the region, with developed relationships and established contacts within the defined customer base.

How It’s Done

  • Manage all activities within specified accounts including all direct selling efforts to plants and engineering offices to meet or exceed yearly established targets in units, revenue, and gross profit.
  • Develop and implement strategic selling plans for accounts; Identify complex sales situations and manage and direct company resources to “win” the business.
  • Manage FANUC America integrator (ASI) network throughout assigned territory and expand this network to increase sales to end users.
  • Develop good relationships with key personnel at all levels of plant, engineering and management within accounts and establish FAC as a sustaining resource.
  • Initiate and establish direction and content of quotations by providing complete scope of work from customer; provide pricing direction, and review quotation prior to submittal; review proposals with customer for a clear and thorough understanding of the FAC content and competitive advantages and negotiate to a successful sale maximizing FAC profitability.
  • Interface with FAC resources and customer on sold projects to assure complete understanding of deliverables.
  • Participate in kickoff and status meetings to assure smooth project execution and complete customer satisfaction.
  • Solicit input and feedback from customers on product operation and new requirements to provide direction on product improvements and new products to increase FAC’s competitive advantages and market share.
  • Manage company assets through accurate monthly forecast, and support in the collection of overdue payments.
  • Travel to customer sites, tradeshows, and other events within and outside of assigned territory.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with customer interface or selling, preferably in a capital equipment environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or engineering experience.
  • Technical competency in automation applications from actual plant experience or formal education.

What Would Be Even Better

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previously proven selling and negotiating skills.
  • Strong presentation skills utilizing Power Point, with the ability to sell to top down through client organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
