Job summary

McCormick & Company is hiring a Distribution Technician - 2nd Shift in Salinas, CA to pick/pack/ship orders and operate material handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role includes inbound/outbound duties, documentation, and participation in inventory processes.

The position requires lifting 25–50 pounds, working around spice dust, and adapting to temperature extremes; overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with RF terminals and basic computer literacy.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds repeatedly and work in temperature extremes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with spice dust and odors.

Responsibilities

• Performs assignments in one of seven activity groups: Order Selection, Replenishment, Inbound, Outbound, Returns, Organizer, Repack/Hazmat; may cover other activities as needed.
• Operates transporter, stand-up, reach or sit-down fork truck.
• Completes paperwork and system transactions per SOPs (pick lists, labels, placards).
• Identifies and communicates issues to shift Crew Leader or Managers.
• Attends shift meetings and suggests process improvements.
• Performs sanitation and battery changes as part of general duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
