Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a Distribution Technician I for the 2nd shift at our Salinas, CA facility. The role involves picking, packing, shipping orders, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and supporting inbound/outbound processes in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a continual basis and 25-50 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Ability to obtain a forklift license via McCormick.
• Ability to work in an environment with spice dust and odors, noise and vibration.
• Ability to work in an environment that is subject to temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Performs assignments in one of seven activity groups: Order Selection, Replenishment, Inbound, Outbound, Returns, Organizer, Repack/Hazmat.
• Operates transporter, stand-up, reach or sit-down fork truck.
• Completes all paperwork &system transactions per SOPs; including pick lists, labels, tagging, placards.
• Identifies and communicates issues to shift leadership and managers.
• Attend shift/team meetings and recommend process improvements.
• Performs general duties including sanitation and battery changing.
• Other duties as assigned.
