Job summary

IID seeks an Engineer/SOPD II to monitor and control the electrical distribution system under general supervision. You will direct switching by field technicians and troubleshooters, coordinate customer outages, and manage emergency restoration to sustain system reliability.

The role requires a degree in engineering, math, business or a related field, or an Associate's with four years of relevant experience; substitution rules apply. A pre-employment test and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, business or related field or Associate's with four years of related work experience.
Experience in electric systems operation, maintenance, line construction, or related fieldwork.
Substitution: two years of experience for one year of education.
Veteran's Preference applies; submit DD form 214 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control electrical distribution system operations and equipment.
Direct switching performed by field technicians and troubleshooters.
Coordinate customer outages, emergency restoration and clearances.
Maintain customer outage information database and comply with NERC/WECC policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
