Job summary

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., is seeking a Regional Distribution System Operator to monitor the regional distribution network and coordinate outages. You will operate critical systems like SCADA, EMS, OMS, and related tools, respond to disturbances, and guide field crews during emergencies.

Ideal candidates will have an ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field, plus several years of TD/OT experience.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or greater in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related ABET-accredited certification.
4+ years of related experience in Transmission and Distribution operation, maintenance, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

Monitor the day-to-day operations of the regional distribution system.
Coordinate outage restoration during emergencies with timely and accurate documentation.
Recommend operational improvements and communicate system events to appropriate personnel.
Demonstrate sound internal and/or external customer service.
Operate SCADA, EMS, OMS, EDOA and RDO notifications and related systems.
Analyze system disturbances and restore the system to normal configuration promptly.
Provide technical analysis and authorize distribution outages and load transfers.
Develop switching orders and coordinate switching activities and field work assignments.
Monitor system and weather conditions; coordinate staffing for emergencies.
Progress to Regional Distribution System Operator through training and development.
