Job summary

GEMCORE is seeking a Distribution Supervisor for GEMCO Medical to oversee our distribution center operations in Hudson, OH. The role leads a team of Warehouse Associates, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and shipping of healthcare products and supplies.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in distribution with at least 2 years in supervision, strong communication, and a solid grasp of warehouse systems. Ongoing training, a clean work environment, and a stable second shift are provided.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a distribution environment, at least 2 years in supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in math, computer software, and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all shipping and receiving activities using best practices and established standards.
• Manage Warehouse Associate productivity across cross-functional teams.
• Recommend process improvements and more efficient methods.
• Establish standards and procedures.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Determine best transportation for packages and truckload shipments.
• Maintain equipment to be fully functional and safe.
• Provide leadership and direction to department staff.
• Train and acclimate new hires on warehouse procedures.

GEMCO Medical, a division of GEMCORE, is a well-established and growing healthcare distribution company shipping over 15,000 packages a day with detailed accuracy, has an opening for a Distribution Supervisor. The Distribution Supervisor's main responsibility will be to manage the daily activities within our distribution center of a team of Warehouse Associates that pick, pack, and ship healthcare products and medical supplies. The Distribution Supervisor will also hold a key position in welcoming new employees and ensuring all Associates are engaged within the company culture.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise all shipping and receiving activities using best practices and established standards.

Key Requirements

• Ability to give clear direction and provide effective training.

• Coach and motivate direct reports to achieve optimal productivity and create highly functioning teams.

• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a distribution environment, at least 2 years supervisory experience required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in math, computer software, and warehouse management systems.

• Ability to lift at minimum 50 pounds

• Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Protected freight shipping requirements a plus.

• Knowledge of OSHA compliance requirements helpful.

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
