Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Distribution Project Manager to support a long-term capital program for a major electric utility. The role covers projects across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, with a hybrid field/office setup in Morristown, NJ or Reading, PA.

You will manage 10–20 electrical distribution projects, coordinate design, procurement, and construction activities, and lead bid processes and progress meetings. 5+ years PM exp and PMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience supporting electrical distribution/substation projects.
• Experience managing project budgets and schedules.
• Experience coordinating engineering teams, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites within a regional service area.

Responsibilities

• Manage 10–20 electrical distribution projects simultaneously from initiation through completion.
• Review project scope and develop project execution plans with engineering and client stakeholders.
• Coordinate engineering design, procurement, and construction activities.
• Manage contractor bid processes and develop RFP packages.
• Lead pre-construction meetings and ongoing project progress meetings.
• Monitor project schedules and coordinate work sequencing with engineering and field teams.
• Track project budgets, financial forecasts, and accruals.
• Coordinate permitting approvals and regulatory documentation.
• Maintain strong communication with engineering teams, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Support project closeout and system energization activities.
