Job summary

Emerson is seeking an experienced Distribution Operations Manager to lead our Memphis Distribution Center outbound activities across pick, pack, and ship. You will optimize labor, monitor processes, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safe, accurate, and timely order fulfillment.

You will guide supervisors, coach team leads, and manage carrier performance, with focus on productivity, quality, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading supervisors, team leads, and frontline associates in a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Experience overseeing high-volume operational workflows and meeting customer service requirements.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and distribution technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
• Experience managing labor planning, productivity metrics, and operational indicators.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily outbound distribution operations across pick, pack, and ship functions, ensuring orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
• Balance labor resources and staffing levels to meet demands, productivity goals, and customer requirements.
• Monitor workflows, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity and quality.
• Provide leadership to supervisors and distribution associates, including performance management and development.
• Drive employee engagement and accountability through KPIs, onboarding, training, and ongoing learning.
• Coordinate outbound transportation, manage carrier performance, and optimize freight costs.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping requirements and promote safety and collaboration.

The Distribution Operations Manager is responsible for leading all outbound distribution activities at the Memphis Distribution Center, including order picking, packing, and shipping operations. This role ensures customer orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and customer service. The successful candidate will lead teams across multiple shifts, optimize operational performance, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support business objectives and customer satisfaction.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Lead daily outbound distribution operations across pick, pack, and ship functions, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and shipped according to established service commitments.
• Balance labor resources and staffing levels to meet operational demands, productivity goals, business volume, and customer requirements.
• Monitor operational workflows, identify and eliminate process bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and operational performance.
• Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, team leads, and distribution associates, including performance management, coaching, employee development, and career growth.
• Drive employee engagement and accountability through key performance indicators, operational metrics, effective onboarding, training, and continuous learning opportunities.
• Coordinate outbound transportation activities, manage carrier performance, maintain shipping schedules, and support freight optimization initiatives to improve service and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all domestic and international shipping requirements and regulations while promoting a culture of safety, operational excellence, customer service, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning systems (ERP), and distribution technologies.

• Advanced proficiency in data analysis and operational reporting.
