Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Louisiana seeks a Manager I, Distribution Operations to oversee a site/fleet, manage warehouse personnel, and optimize P&L. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, schedule shifts (days, nights, weekends), and ensure safe, on‑time freight movement with excellent customer service.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to analyze KPIs while driving profitability and operational excellence at the assigned site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain, or related field; 1 year relevant experience or 2–4 years with JB Hunt.
• Prior supervisory experience in transportation/logistics preferred.
• Ability to analyze data, manage KPIs, and lead teams across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee single site/account or fleet and optimize P&L performance.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Forecast freight/vehicle needs and adjust capacity accordingly.
• Lead personnel and coordinate warehouse resources safely and efficiently.
• Plan loads, monitor freight movement, and manage on‑time service and exceptions.
• Ensure payroll accuracy, invoicing, and timely customer billing.
• Recruit, hire, and develop operational personnel for location coverage.
