Job summary

Portland General Electric seeks a senior leader to manage the Distribution Operations Engineering organization, providing strategic and technical direction for engineering programs that keep the electric distribution system safe, reliable, and resilient across the Portland area.

This is a high-impact role reporting to the Standards, System Health & Maintenance organization and guiding engineers supporting control centers, field operations, and outage response.

Qualifications

• Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering. ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prefer eight or more years in engineering.
• Certifications: PE license strongly preferred; NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operations Engineering Management: Manages a team of operations engineering professionals in one or more distribution operations, transmission operations, or power quality subfunctions.
• Distribution Operations Management: Recommends improvements for design and construction of distribution facilities and technology.
• Financial Management: Monitors and manages expenditures and budgets.
• Resourcing: Oversees staffing decisions and planning for the team.
• Professional Development: Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews.
