Job summary

Southern California Edison is hiring a Distribution Journeyman Lineman to install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution and communication systems in California. You will work with teams to install equipment, test and troubleshoot lines, and operate specialized test gear and vehicles.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration with apprentices, and adherence to procedures while delivering reliable service.

Qualifications

Certified Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman card.
Weigh less than 285 pounds due to safety equipment restrictions.
Valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license.
Experience working with utility poles (including climbing).

Responsibilities

Installs, removes, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground distribution and communication systems.
Installs/removes poles, cross arms, towers, enclosures, ducts, piping and electrical apparatus.
Connects, tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and apparatus.
Operates test equipment such as amp, volt or ohm meters, phasing and cable test sets, fault finders, and cable locators.
Operates construction vehicles up to 1,200 lbs. and related equipment.
Collaborates with apprentices and helpers, providing instruction.
Maintains a safety mindset and adheres to safe work practices.
