Job summary

Southern California Edison is hiring a Distribution Journeyman Lineman in Long Beach to install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution and communication systems across Southern California. You will work on poles, cross arms, transformers, and protective devices, test and fault-find with meters, and mentor apprentices.

A safety‑first mindset and ability to work outdoors in varied climates are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman card.
• Weigh less than 285 pounds due to safety equipment restrictions.
• Valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license.
• Experience with utility poles (ascending/descending).

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, maintains, and repairs distribution and communication systems.
• Installs and removes equipment such as poles, cross arms, towers, enclosures, ducts and transformers.
• Incudes testing, terminating, and testing conductor and cable connections.
• Tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and apparatus.
• Operate test equipment and construction vehicles; supervise apprentices when needed.
• Maintain a safety mindset and collaborate with team on high‑risk work.
