BHMG Engineers, Inc. in the St. Louis region is seeking a Distribution Line Engineer in an on-site or hybrid role. The position focuses on overhead and underground distribution line design, project coordination, and mentoring junior staff.

You will use GIS platforms, pole loading software, and engineering tools to create drawings, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with NESC and RUS standards. Collaboration with survey, field, and real estate teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or ABET-accredited field.
• Typically 2+ years in distribution line design or utility engineering.
• FE/EIT preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Develop distribution line designs using GIS platforms and design tools.
• Produce construction drawings, staking sheets, and BOMs.
• Perform analyses for NESC and RUS compliance.
• Evaluate routing, pole placement, and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with survey, field, and real estate teams.
• Identify permitting requirements and assist with exhibits.
• Conduct pole loading, guying, and duct design checks.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standards.
