Job summary

Southern California Edison is hiring a Distribution Journeyman Lineman to join the Distribution team responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground distribution and communication systems in California.

The role involves working with poles, equipment, and testing circuits, while prioritizing safety and collaboration with apprentices and crew members. Occasional overtime and testing processes are part of the job, with relocation possible.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman card.
• Valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license.
• Experience working with utility poles (including ascending and descending climbing).

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground distribution and communication systems.
• Installs and removes equipment such as poles, cross arms, towers, enclosures, ducts and piping and electrical apparatus.
• Installs, removes, splices, bonds, terminates, and tests conductor and cable.
• Connects, tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and apparatus.
• Uses precautionary procedures, necessary tools, and safety equipment to work on or near energized lines or equipment.
• Operates test equipment and fault finders.
• Operates construction vehicles (up to 1,200 lbs.).
• Collaborates with others, instructing and directing apprentices and helpers.
• Maintains a safety mindset and ownership of safety.
