Job summary

Georgia Power seeks an Engineer, Engineering Associate, or Engineering Representative for the Atlanta Distribution Area. The role involves daily engineering work, design, estimating, and coordination of overhead and underground projects with a focus on reliability and customer service.

The candidate must be able to write and execute switching orders, participate in storm restoration, and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET Accredited) or
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology or
• Bachelor's Degree in Math or Science or
• Professional Engineer's License (PE) in lieu of the above bachelor's degree
• Previous Distribution Engineering Experience is a plus
• Distribution and/or related Engineering experience with a power utility company is a plus

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day engineering work in an assigned area, including service design, estimating, and coordinating construction for overhead and underground projects.
• Prepare and schedule construction to meet service dates and write/execute switching orders for system reliability.
• Assist in distribution planning and asset management programs and participate in on-call trouble supervision rotations.
• Process documentation in compliance with requirements and respond to customer inquiries.
• Available for after-hours duty for local, out-of-town, and storm restoration support.
