Job summary

Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, seeks an Engineer, Engineering Associate, or Engineering Representative for the Atlanta Distribution Area. Responsibilities include day-to-day engineering, design, estimating, and coordinating construction for overhead and underground projects to meet service dates.

The role requires handling switching orders, ensuring reliability, and maintaining compliance documentation; on-call rotation may be required for storms and outages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or Math/Science, or PE in lieu of degree.
• Distribution engineering experience is a plus.
• Experience with a power utility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day engineering work in an assigned area; design, estimate, and coordinate construction for overhead and underground projects.
• Write and execute switching orders to maintain reliability and support distribution planning.
• Process documentation per Compliance requirements and handle customer inquiries.
• Participate in on-call trouble supervision and be available after hours for storm restoration.
