Job summary

Jobtailor in Minneapolis seeks a CAD Drafter to support electric utility engineering projects. Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the Power Delivery Solutions organization supporting electric utility engineering consultants and utility clients.
• Perform drafting and detailing functions using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Work under the mentorship of a seasoned team and develop the ability to work with increased independence.
• Collaborate with multiple design engineers and designers to complete drafting and detailing tasks.
• Provide 2D and/or 3D drawings in support of the distribution team.
• Create plan and profile drawings for overhead and underground projects.
• Help develop and maintain standards and processes for the Distribution team.
• Support remote office overflow CAD workload as needed, coordinating with CAD leads in Leidos offices.

Requirements

• High School diploma with 1+ years of relevant drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures.
• Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and Microstation.
• Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Experience with file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, etc.
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills within a team environment.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced engineering/production environment.
