Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced drafter/detailer to support utility projects. You will produce high-quality 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation, collaborating with design engineers to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 1+ years of drafting/detailing experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to create/modify drawings from engineer markups with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with file sharing and collaboration tools (ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint).
• Strong verbal and written communication in a team environment.
• Highly organized and efficient in a fast-paced engineering setting.

Job description

• Perform various drafting and detailing functions using MicroStation and AutoCAD for utility clients.
• Work under the mentorship of a seasoned team and develop the ability to work with increased independence.
• Work closely with multiple design engineers and designers to complete drafting and detailing tasks at a high level of quality, efficiency and productivity.
• Provide 2D and/or 3D drawings in support of the distribution team.
• Create plan and profile drawings for overhead and underground projects.
• Help develop and maintain standards and processes supporting the Distribution team.
• Support remote office overflow CAD workload on a need and availability basis, coordinating with CAD leads in other Leidos offices.

Requirements

• High School diploma with 1+ years of relevant drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures.
• Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Experience with file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, etc.
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills within a team environment.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced engineering/production environment.
