Jobtailor is seeking an engineer to independently develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems, including structural analysis and voltage drop calculations. You will review client requirements, coordinate with utilities, and provide field support through project kickoff to design approval.
Applicants should have 2+ years of experience, a relevant engineering degree, and a valid U.S. driver's license.
Independently develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements
Perform structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying calculations
Specify conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans
Calculate voltage drop and flicker
Provide engineering support during construction
Conduct post-construction reviews for compliance with engineering and construction standards
Conduct root cause analysis of outages and develop mitigation using engineering principles and design
Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
Assess and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments
Develop work permits, easements, and right-of-way applications
Work directly with clients and support customer relationships
Collect field data during customer-site visits as needed
Demonstrates expertise in developing design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems, including structural analysis, voltage drop calculations, and compliance reviews. Proficient in client interaction and project execution from kickoff to design approval, with a strong focus on utility reliability and field data collection.
