Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in relevant field.
  • Experience in electrical distribution design is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Experience in electrical distribution design and knowledge of utility standards, safety codes (NESC, IEEE).
  • Ability to read and develop construction drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines and offices.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Clear and professional communicator across teams.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise drawings for substation projects.
  • Coordinate with technical personnel for design data.
  • Mentor less experienced designers and drafters.
  • Engage with clients to clarify technical requirements.
  • Accountable for the quality of deliverables and support peer reviews to uphold team standards.
  • Engage with clients to clarify technical requirements, contribute to project updates, and ensure alignment with expectations.
  • Execute project tasks independently within established scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Participate in occasional site walks for current projects. Travel <5%

Job description

Role Summary

Join a team where you’ll develop construction packages for high-voltage distribution projects, and help shape the quality and consistency of technical documentation. You’ll apply your expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and 3D Line Design Software to produce and revise construction drawings, coordinate with technical teams, and contribute to workflow improvements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality work that supports critical infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Associates of Applied Science degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Proficient understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, or MicroStation
  • Experience in electrical distribution design and knowledge of utility standards, safety codes (NESC, IEEE) is a plus
  • Practiced ability to effectively read and develop construction drawings
  • Reliable ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines and offices
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills and consistent attention to detail
  • Clear and professional communicator, able to convey technical information across teams
  • Valid Driver’s License is required
Responsibilities
  • Creating and revising drawings and documentation for substation projects in AutoCAD, from scope documents, engineering sketches and/or verbal instructions
  • Coordinate with technical personnel to gather and record data for design projects and complete as-built and record print revisions from marked drawings
  • Contribute to development and implementation of drawing development workflows and CAD-based design operations
  • Mentor less experienced designers/drafters and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical growth within the team
  • Accountable for the quality of deliverables and support peer reviews to uphold team standards
  • Engage with clients to clarify technical requirements, contribute to project updates, and ensure alignment with expectations
  • Execute project tasks independently within established scope, schedule, and budget parameters
  • Participate in occasional site walks for current projects. Travel <5%
