Job summary

Idaho Power Company in Boise, Idaho seeks Distribution Designer I–Senior to design line extensions and rebuild infrastructure for overhead and underground power lines. You will meet with customers, contractors and developers to clarify needs and communicate design options, tariffs, and costs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 4 years electric utility experience in relevant field operations, construction support or drafting/mapping OR 2 years of design experience OR journeyman lineman experience.
• Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver's license; First Aid/CPR within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, and design line extensions and rebuilding for overhead and underground power lines.
• Meet with customers and contractors to determine needs and communicate policies and options.
• Prepare work orders and process fees; senior mentors designers on processes and best practices.
