Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated engineer to design distribution systems and manage related projects onsite in Lake Charles, LA. The role involves assessing electric needs, performing load calculations, and coordinating with engineers, PMs, and field crews to meet customer requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a related degree with 4–7 years of experience in utility design, drafting background is a plus, and familiarity with GDT/GIS and structural analysis is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (will take a Technical Diploma).
• 4-7 years of experience in utility design and field practices.
• Strong knowledge of distribution design and project execution.

Job Summary

Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Design jobs to install, replace, or remove distribution facilities to support customer requests, reliability projects, or infrastructure improvement.

• Perform advanced load calculations and system planning
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field crews
• Review and approve drawings, designs, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in utility design and field practices
