Job summary

Ampcus Inc is seeking a qualified engineer to join our team to design and manage electric distribution projects for residential and commercial customers. The role focuses on meeting customer needs, designing overhead and underground extensions, and coordinating project work onsite.

The ideal candidate has a related degree, 4–7 years of experience in utility design and field practices, and is able to lead design efforts, perform calculations, and support permitting and ROW activities.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (will accept a technical diploma).
• 4-7 years of experience.
• Strong expertise in utility design and field practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial businesses.
• Meet with customers to determine service needs and design extensions.
• Estimate costs, prepare construction drawings, and coordinate construction commitments.
• Coordinate and lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations (load studies, fault current, voltage drop).
• Provide leadership and technical support to operations and ensure contract compliance.

Job Summary

Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Design jobs to install, replace, or remove distribution facilities to support customer requests, reliability projects, or infrastructure improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be to manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial businesses.
• Includes meeting with customers to determine their service needs, design of overhead and underground line extensions, estimating costs, preparing construction drawings and coordinate construction commits.
• Coordinate and lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects (i.e., load studies, revenue justification, fault current, voltage drop, etc.).
• Provide leadership and technical support to local operations and contract compliance with regards to distribution design standards and practices to provide seamless service to customers and external constituents.
• Aid local Right of Way agent with acquiring permits and ROW documents.
