Job summary

Leidos in Kansas City, MO is hiring Distribution Engineers & Designers to work on electric utility design projects. You will engage with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables, develop work packages using GIS tools, and coordinate field data collection for both in-office and field settings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree
• Experience and proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
• Experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
• Ability to provide reliable transportation for local/regional travel (reimbursed)
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, and Make Ready using GIS and system tools (EFD, AUD, Smallworld, ArcGIS, Infor, EAM, STORMS, Maximo)
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work
• Conduct planning and customer follow-up activities
• Analyze scope and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities
• Drive continuous improvement in workflow processes for quality deliverables
• Coordinate with field data collection and develop large design packages for complex projects in dense urban environments
