Job summary

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers & Designers in Kansas City, MO, passionate about electric utility design engineering. You will work with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables and gain experience in NESC, GIS design, field data collection, and design standards.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and willingness to travel for local/region assignments. Remote work is possible within commutable distance to Kansas City, MO.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Experience with structural analysis, guying/calcs, cable pulling calcs, protective devices coordination and fault current calculations.
• Must have own reliable transportation; some local/regional travel reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, and Make Ready using GIS/WMS tools.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work.
• Perform planning, client follow-up and communications.
• Analyze work scope and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities.
• Support workflow improvements for higher quality deliverables.
• Coordinate with field and office teams for data collection and design packages.
