Job summary

UNFI in California is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee shipping and receiving for a shift, ensuring operations comply with company guidelines and safety standards.

You will lead a team of associates, monitor productivity, coordinate with Inventory Control, and drive accurate handling of inbound and outbound product while maintaining daily records and reporting. This on-site role requires strong leadership, communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution center.

Qualifications

• Strong general knowledge of all warehousing operations.
• Excellent supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervises shipping/receiving associates.
• Controls production standards, accuracy of shipments and receiving using proper accuracy programs and systems.
• Maintains daily production and accuracy records.
• Processes store returns and return to vendors using proper Company policies.
• Coordinates with Inventory Control regarding slotting, product rotation and space allocation.
• Conducts daily crew meeting to discuss safety, productivity and accuracy.
• Communicates with Transportation on the flow and receipt of backhauls.
• Supervises scheduling of inbound load appointments.
• Walks warehouse daily to ensure safety, security, sanitation and pest control codes, laws, and policies.
• Ensures economical use of equipment and personnel to accomplish work.
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments.
• Safety Reviews (PIT, Lifting Techniques, etc.).
• Sanitation Oversight.
