Qualifications

• 5+ years of distribution, warehouse, or logistics experience.
• 3 years supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practices.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and DOT/OSHA safety requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily receiving, warehousing, inventory, picking, staging, shipping, and distribution activities.

Position Summary

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the overall leadership safety efficiency and performance of the distribution center including warehouse operations inventory control facility maintenance fleet compliance transportation support and personnel management This position ensures that products materials equipment and company assets are received stored maintained and distributed accurately and efficiently while maintaining a safe organized and compliant workplace The Distribution Center Manager will also oversee facility maintenance activities and ensure company vehicles assigned to the location meet operational safety DOT and company fleet requirements The ideal candidate is a hands on leader who can balance daily operational demands with long term improvements in safety productivity inventory accuracy fleet readiness facility condition and cost control

Key Responsibilities

Distribution & Warehouse Operations

Direct daily receiving warehousing inventory picking staging shipping and distribution activitiesEnsure materials and equipment are received processed stored and distributed accurately and efficientlyEstablish and maintain organized warehouse layouts and designated storage locationsMonitor workflow staffing productivity and workload to meet operational requirementsMaintain high standards for inventory accuracy and material accountabilityConduct or coordinate cycle counts physical inventories and inventory reconciliationsInvestigate inventory discrepancies shortages damaged materials and process failuresEnsure timely processing of returns transfers obsolete inventory and other material movementsDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures for distribution center activitiesIdentify opportunities to improve productivity reduce waste improve material flow and lower operating costs

Facility Maintenance & Management

Maintain overall responsibility for the condition safety security and appearance of the distribution center and surrounding propertyConduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance or safety concernsCoordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC systemsElectrical and lightingPlumbingDock doors and loading areasRacking and shelvingMaterial handling equipmentFire and life safety equipmentSecurity and access control systemsBuilding and groundsCoordinate repairs and maintenance with approved outside vendors and contractorsMaintain facility maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedulesObtain quotes issue service requests and monitor vendor performance and repair costsEnsure emergency exits fire extinguishers walkways loading areas and other safety related areas remain accessible and compliantSupport facility projects improvements expansions and equipment installations as required

Fleet Operations & Compliance

Oversee the operational readiness and compliance of company vehicles assigned to the distribution centerEnsure vehicles receive required preventive maintenance and repairs according to company standards and manufacturer recommendationsConduct or coordinate routine vehicle inspections and fleet auditsMonitor vehicle condition mileage utilization maintenance status registrations insurance documentation and required inspectionsCoordinate vehicle repairs and maintenance with internal resources fleet management companies dealerships and outside vendorsEnsure drivers complete required pre trippost trip inspections and promptly report vehicle defectsMonitor and resolve vehicle safety deficiencies before vehicles are returned to serviceMaintain required fleet documentation and compliance recordsSupport compliance with applicable DOT FMCSA OSHA state local and company requirementsEnsure applicable drivers maintain required licenses medical cards training and other qualificationsMonitor fleet safety equipment and ensure vehicles contain required company and regulatory equipmentAssist with accident reporting vehicle damage documentation claims coordination and corrective actionsMonitor fleet utilization and recommend reassignment replacement or disposal of underutilized or high cost assetsPromote safe driving practices and overall fleet accountability

Qualifications Required

5 years of experience in distribution warehouse logistics fleet transportation or operations management3 years of supervisory or management experience preferredWorking knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practicesGeneral mechanical knowledge of automobiles commercial vehicles and material handling equipmentExperience coordinating facility and equipment maintenanceUnderstanding of fleet preventive maintenance and vehicle inspection processesGeneral knowledge of DOT OSHA and workplace safety requirementsStrong organizational analytical and problem solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced operational environmentProficiency with Google Workspace including spreadsheets documents and reporting toolsValid drivers license with an acceptable driving recordBe able to obtain a DOT medical card to operate a non CDL box truckPreferred Experience managing a multi site or high volume distribution operationExperience with fleet management systems telematics or platforms such as SamsaraExperience working with third party fleet management providersKnowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repairExperience with Pixsys andor inventory management softwareOSHA DOT forklift safety or related professional trainingcertificationsExperience developing KPIs dashboards and continuous improvement initiatives
