Job summary

Tireco Distributors is hiring a Distribution Center Manager in Alexandria, LA. You will oversee daily DC operations, manage drivers and staff, and ensure accurate shipments and paperwork.

The role emphasizes safety, policy enforcement, inventory control, and staff development, with a focus on efficient, compliant distribution center performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 2+ years of operations leadership experience preferred.
• Experience managing a fleet of delivery vehicles under DOT compliance.
• Valid driver’s license; lifting equipment certification (lift) training may be provided.
• Insurable by company’s insurance carrier and able to work with safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day distribution center operations, including scheduling and management of drivers, supervisors, leads and associates.
• Manage shipments and paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timeliness; align workload and processes with objectives.
• Enforce safety, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, fleet, material handling, and shipping requirements.
• Safeguard operations by enforcing security procedures and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Recruit, select, and train distribution center staff; coach and develop team members.
• Verify inventory accuracy through cycle counts and maintain levels per company standards.
• Ensure all will-call orders are handled efficiently and courteously; DOT compliance for fleet.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

• Responsible for all facility operationsincludingscheduling andmanagement of drivers, supervisors, leads anddistribution centerassociates
• Manage the day-to-daydistribution centeroperationsincluding unloading and loading of all shipments ensuring accuracy and timeliness of shipments and paperwork. Align workload, people management and process objectives
• Enforceall programs;safety,operational, and personnel policies and procedures
• Complywith federal, state, and local warehousing,fleet,material handling, and shipping requirements
• Safeguarddistribution centeroperations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
• Overseea safe,clean,and orderlyoperating environment
• Responsiblefor theaccuracy ofshipments
• Ensure facility is in good condition;maintains a clean, efficientdistribution center
• Sustaindistribution centerstaff through recruitment, selection,andtraining ofteam members
• Identify and execute coaching opportunities to develop team members
• Verifyinventory accuracythrough cycle count process to ensure inventory accuracyis maintained at levels acceptable to company standards
• Ensure all will call orders are handled in an efficient and courteous manner
• Ensure fleet is compliant with DOT regulations
• Implementa monthly/yearlybudgetacceptabletocost control performance measures
• Utilizea “Creativity beforeCapital” approach to managing and leading the facilities
• Developstrategies and programs to reduce costs and lead times, increase inventory turns and order turnaround time
• Responsible for providing outstanding customer service

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A B.S./B.A.degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Manufacturing,Management,or equivalent work experiencepreferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ operations leadership experiencepreferred
• Experience managing fleet of delivery vehicles under DOT compliance
• Possess a valid regular driver’s license, some states may require a Class D license
• Insurable by Company’s insurance carrier
• Strong leadershipskills:train, motivate and direct the work of others
• Strong organizationanddecision-makingskillswith an attention to detail
