Job Title: Distribution Center Manager

Reports To: Director of SIOP and Distribution

Position Overview

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational activities within the distribution center, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and delivery logistics. This role ensures the smooth functioning of operations, maintains accuracy, leads the team effectively, and upholds the highest standards of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Conduct regular check-ins with team leads to synchronize daily logistics operations.
  • Oversee the picking, packing, and loading of orders and transfers, ensuring compliance with

company standards.

  • Ensure order accuracy through material verification, quality checks, and timely deliveries.
  • Collaborate with inventory and receiving teams to manage stock levels and minimize

discrepancies.

  • Supervise the processing of parcel shipments for customer deliveries.
  • Perform routine facility walkthroughs to identify and resolve housekeeping or operational

issues.

Team Leadership

  • Support front-line staff in delivering prompt and effective customer service.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to team members, addressing performance and

operational challenges.

  • Approve schedules and time-off requests for warehouse and delivery personnel.
  • Foster a motivating work environment that encourages high performance and teamwork.

Compliance and Training

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and administer corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitor training initiatives to ensure team members complete required programs.
  • Assist in enhancing training processes to improve overall team efficiency.

Administrative Duties

  • Review and approve employee timecards, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, including probationary and annual reviews.
  • Oversee daily logistics reports, including manifests and operational queues.

Safety and Maintenance

  • Promote and enforce workplace safety practices.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or distribution operations, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations in transportation logistics.
  • Relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management.
