A leading company is seeking a DC Area Supervisor to lead a team within their distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing processes, coaching associates, and driving results to meet performance targets. With a focus on leadership and operational excellence, this role requires flexibility, people management skills, and experience in a supervisory position.
Position Purpose: The DC Area Supervisor leads an hourly team and influences the entire distribution team to perform the fast-paced work required to run the distribution center efficiently, safely, and productively. This role manages team members' responsibilities, ensuring prompt, efficient, and accurate handling of merchandise, and develops team goals.
This role is responsible for hiring, evaluating, developing, disciplining, and terminating hourly associates. The supervisor manages 20 to 30 hourly associates.
Additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager.
This position reports to the Operations Manager and supervises work activities of others, including making recommendations on personnel decisions. May involve direct supervision of a shift or coordination of multiple work groups.
Typically less than 10% overnight travel. Requires physical exertion such as walking, standing, lifting, and climbing. Located in a comfortable indoor environment with infrequent unpleasant conditions.
