Job summary

Ameren Illinois seeks an Engineer to identify and implement reliability improvements and Advanced Distribution Automation opportunities within Illinois. The role focuses on Volt-Var Optimization, DER integration, data analysis, outage management, SCADA, and distribution automation to enhance reliability and efficiency across the system.

The position requires a BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred), FE/PE credentials preferred, and strong teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the Volt-Var Optimization (VVO) program for Ameren Illinois.
• Support DER integration into the distribution operations system for reliability and economics.
• Provide guidance to Illinois Distribution Control staff and Division engineering staff.
• Offer expertise in data analysis, outage management, SCADA, distribution automation, and circuit coordination.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on projects to improve reliability and performance.
• Oversee turn-key distribution automation projects and align with budgetary allocations.
