Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking an Engineer to identify, stratify, and implement reliability improvements and Advanced Distribution Automation opportunities across Illinois. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the Volt-Var Optimization program and supporting DER integration to enhance reliability and economic performance.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Distribution Control and engineering teams, apply data analytics, and oversee distribution automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university required; Electrical preferred.
• FE certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred.
• Engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the Volt-Var Optimization (VVO) program for Ameren Illinois.
• Support the integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) into the distribution electric operations system for reliability and economic purposes.
• Provide support, technical expertise and guidance to Illinois Distribution Control staff and Division engineering staff.
• Provide expertise in data analysis, outage management, SCADA, distribution automation (DA), circuit coordination, post‑disturbance analysis, etc.
• Consult with stakeholders on projects to drive performance and reliability improvements across Ameren Illinois Operations.
• Provide management oversight of turnkey DA projects for Illinois Operations.
