Job summary

GlassRatner Advisory & Capital Group is seeking an Asset Manager to stabilize and maximize value of a distressed portfolio of multifamily assets under receivership. You will analyze financial challenges, implement turnaround strategies, and coordinate with a court-appointed receiver to drive performance and value creation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate investment, property management, or asset management.
• Prior experience as an asset manager or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of the multifamily real estate market and leasing practices.
• Knowledge of CRE market trends, lease structures, and property management practices.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed investment decisions.
• Experience leading property management teams toward performance goals.
• Familiarity with receivership procedures and court regulations.
• Excellent communication with investors, property managers, tenants, and internal teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Knowledge of property management software (Yardi, AppFolio).

Responsibilities

• Work with the proposed receiver to assess issues at properties, including documenting deferred maintenance and life safety concerns.
• Coordinate with the court-appointed receiver to take control of the property and bank accounts, and retain third-party property management.
• Oversee a portfolio of distressed multifamily assets during receivership, improving occupancy and operating performance to maximize sale value.
• Prepare lender reports including vacancy, unit turn pricing, exterior condition, and key operating metrics (delinquency, bad debt, AP).
• Collaborate with third-party property management to improve occupancy, tenant retention, and rental income.
• Identify and prioritize capital improvement projects to maintain property value and tenant satisfaction.
• Conduct regular site visits and monitor property conditions and management performance.
• Serve as point of contact for lenders and counsel on property status and actions.
• Develop exit strategies positioning assets for sale.
