Job summary

Middle West Spirits in Columbus, OH is seeking a skilled Distiller to join the growing team. The position will be hired at either the Distiller Apprentice or Distiller I level based on experience.

You will produce high-quality spirits through mashing, fermentation, and distillation while contributing to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role offers opportunities for growth within the distilling industry and requires adapting to a 12-hour

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, including weekends.
• Previous manufacturing, brewing, food production, mechanical, agricultural, or industrial experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and an interest in process operations.
• Ability to complete production documentation accurately and obtain/maintain licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor mashing, fermentation, utility, and distillation systems.
• Start up, shut down, clean, and change over production equipment.
• Perform product transfers, hose setups, tank routing, and Clean-in-Place procedures.
• Monitor process conditions, equipment performance, and production flow.
• Complete production logs, shift documentation, checks, and records accurately and on time.
• Maintain clean, organized production areas and sanitation.
• Support routine equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
• Follow all safety policies, SOPs, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
